Titan Beetle
Titanus giganteus
- Habitat
- Amazonian rainforest in Brazil, Colombia, Peru
- Body length
- 170 mm
- Order

Weird but real
Largest beetle in the Amazon, possibly the world. Jaws can snap a wooden pencil in half. Adults don't eat, they live only to mate.
Why it's cool
Bigger than your hand. So rare and elusive that no scientist has ever observed its larva. We know the adults exist; the kids are pure rumor.
