uncommon

Rosy Maple Moth

Dryocampa rubicunda

Habitat
Forests of eastern North America
Wingspan
45 mm
Order
Lepidoptera · Saturniidae

Weird but real

Its body is dusted in cotton-candy pink and yellow, the most pastel moth alive.

Why it's cool

Looks like it was designed for a children's storybook. Adults never eat, just exist beautifully for a few days.
