Philippine Leaf Insect

uncommon

Philippine Leaf Insect

Phyllium philippinicum

Habitat
Tropical forests of the Philippines, especially leafy understory vegetation
Body length
70 mm
Order
Phasmatodea · Phylliidae

Weird but real

Its flattened green body has fake leaf veins and ragged-looking edges that sell the disguise.

Why it's cool

It looks less like an insect wearing camouflage and more like a leaf that decided to walk away.
